WEBWIRE - Austin, Tx. - April 15, 2008
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Austin, Tx. - April 15, 2008 - "La Vie en Rose" - Alejandro Escovedo - The Met: disparate interests experienced, reviewed, and informed with Adan’s unique sense of poetry and art.
April 15, 2008 - Austin, Tx. Movies, such as "La Vie en Rose" flicker through Adan’s reviews. "Strong emotional films, about an artist or artistic setting, almost always about love, are the ones I really like" he says. "Lot of times I get a heads up about a film I might like from Michael Barnes’ blog, Out and About. He’s the Entertainment Editor of the Statesman here in Austin" : http://www.austin360.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/outandabout/index.html
Adan’s description and interpretation of concerts, such as Alejandro Escovedo playing at Antones, feel almost live : http://www.adanlerma.com/blog/1936 . The chords of the band mingle with those of the crowd and the night. Adan’s early childhood years in a school band, playing the trumpet, and singing in choir, all color his sensitivity to sound.
Painting pictures of exhibits, such as the Met’s grand show at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Adan double-loads his verbal brush with the visual and emotional excitement of being there, room to room with the surging crowd, eyeing the great works of the Impressionists: http://www.adanlerma.com/blog/1917 . His three part series on this exhibit include both memories of Houston and the museum, from childhood to high school, plus bits and pieces of art history that came to mind during the exhibit.
Adan’s arts reviews, just recently begun as a supplement to his art and poetry, often detailed with the excitement and thoughts enroute to the arts outting, expand on and reveal the joy of an artist truly enjoying the arts. http://www.adanlerma.com/blog/2379#reviews
Adan’s next news release features his poetry for the upcoming Nurses Week.

artist commentary:
april 14, 2008
tomorrow morning this newest release goes out; i wanted to say so much more, the format sometimes seems so short, but it does seem effective
the challenge, for a release both so narrow - arts reviews, yet so broad - movies, music, and art, was saying enough to tempt people to browse the other reviews
the arts reviews are less arty than a poem, yet, since they are my own "takes" of my own experience of an art form, more personal
in this news release, i tried to combine the sense of an objective pr, with a glimmer of the fun i usually had at an arts event, or the enjoyment i experienced being there, what i saw and heard and noticed while there - that's why i only do reviews of arts events that move me to do so, and not try and "cover" a scene or field
the object of the reviews was to share my own experience, when i valued it enough, so the reader would get a sense of me and better relate to my art and poems
that's it :-)
thanks ya'll,
adan
ps - the next release should focus on my nursing poems, just in time for nurses week the first of may (and then there's mother's day!)
