Artist's Comment: written by sheila due to consistent demand from customers at our malls shows back in the 90's, it became a nice steady seller for us
we're able to personalize this nice occasions poem by add names and dates
sheila herself, though not spanish, knows the language fairly well, including having spent a year in the columbian jungle before i met her helping with anthropological research; she also likes mexican food alot :-)
but of course her real connection is that of a woman easily able to identify with why a young girl of 15 would celebrate this transitional age, especially in a culture that recognizes that rite of passage as strongly as the hispanic culture does, with the emphasis on thankfulness and god
