FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Poetry and impressionist art work selections from artist Adan
Lerma’s several decades of production are now being posted each week on
his website, www.adanlerma.com. Adan’s commitment to the value of creative work has led him to create his pending trademark: “Art Beyond the Bubble!”
Austin, Texas - March 11, 2008 - Adan Lerma, long time
impressionist artist and poet, has recently begun the process of
placing several decades of imagery and poetry online.
Today’s announcement begins a series of press releases
describing first, each major arts category Adan has worked in; then
secondly, detailing the many and various sub-groups within his work.
The major categories of arts includes: 1) impressionist art, such as “Central Park Record Cold March,” www.adanlerma.com/blog/2312 ; 2) original poetry, (available personalized and with a non-commercial free-use option) including the popular “Heart Beats,” www.adanlerma.com/blog/2450 ; 3) and arts reviews of music, movies, and art, such as “Alejandro Escovedo at Antones,” www.adanlerma.com/blog/1936.
Licensing and syndication is also available for the images, poetry, and reviews.
Asked what the first follow-up press releases would feature,
Adan thought a moment, smiled, and said, “Maybe the Love poetry should
be first. Then the Central Park paintings.”
Stay tuned to your rss feed, more Art Beyond the Bubble releases are coming as Adan’s story unfolds.

artist commentary:
march 11-12 '08
my first online press release; maybe my first ever, i'll have to think on that :-)
much went into doing this:
strategic stuff regarding content, timing, and
structure
aesthetically challenging, though i found the end format
provided by webwire to be more than nice enough
tone; choosing tag words; so so
much, but kinda fun :-)
part of the problem was most of the first guides i read on doing a pr recommended about 500 words, but that turned out to be for what most of the pr people were calling press, or newswire, releases to mostly non-online newswires; and it turned out that, for now, i felt my emphasis should be online distribution, what's being called a news release, and for this, a 250 to 400 maximum was being requested
i'd spent time preparing, proofing, and getting feedback on the structure and flow of an about 550 word release, and realized i'd have to re-do down to much less; ended up with around 290 i think
jennifer mattern, of jh mattern communications, was especially helpful and encouraging; as was michael schwartz, of webwire
a big component of the bottom line, appropriately, was webwire's very reasonable online rate; i'd been concerned it was gonna be too bare bones, but found the end-product, with clickable links of web addresses inside my release, the social bookmarking tags on the release pg, the ability to choose tag words, all made for more than a nice enough first release; and hopefully my continuing releases, aimed to revealing / explaining all the original arts i like creating
on my own end, a major challenge for me was the inclusion and incorporation of my pending trademark, "art beyond the bubble!"
i have strong vested feelings and idea-connections i continue to realize about that phrase, and wanted it included; there were issues re the TM symbol, even about saying it was a trademark, thus where and how to even include it
condensing my release from 500+ to less than 300 words actually helped me place it within the title, and i now plan to use it as a kinda identifier on each new pr
the little other research, beyond basics, i've done, regarding the state of the pr today, especially when intended for primarily, or initially, online use, is that the tone and content and structure of online pr's are not only in flux, but seem even encouraged-ly so
a nice example is google's recent news release about their acquisition of double click; after the opening summary paragraph (if i've correctly labeled / identified it such :-) the main-sole content paragraph is almost entirely a quote from google's ceo consisting of one short and one long sentence. Nice.
thanks ya'll,
adan
ps - the next release should focus on my love poetry :-)
