Original Poetry from Adan Lerma
A Gift for RememberingTM
Artist's Comment: though written 14 years ago, and though many things have changed in the capitol of texas, and despite the drive towards diversification in the city's economy, and because of the home building on both sides of the dividing interstate (i-35), not a word of this poem needed changing :-)
there's a nice growing selection of austin related paintings posted; hope you take a look

"the act of giving your thoughts to one you love can be as important as
the thought itself" - adan
Austin
East Austin. West Austin.
Two Worlds? Yes. But
both fed by UT straddling I-35.
Both fed by high-tech silicon
fajitas from all over the world.
And neither’s excluded from the
dozens of galleries, hundreds of
live music gigs, or the seven
rising and falling lakes.
You can see the sun rise over
the farms and set over the
hills. And food. More good
food in more restaurants than
any town you can actually drive
in. Students, the Legislature,
rednecks, and geeks. Now all on
both sides of the river. Computers
guitars, ducks on the lake. And the
finest spring and fall weather in
Texas. Just don’t mention the
summers.

Special notes:
The text presented in the photo example below is how we print, a more cursive pretty font that won't reprint well here.
Also, we adjust the font size of the title, copyright, personalization, to fit both the writing itself, and the constraints of the mat opening (window) of the 8x10's we use.
