Original Poetry from Adan Lerma
A Gift for RememberingTM
Artist's Comment: a new work, i'd recently had one of those warm heart-massaging moments, and wanted to build a small work from it
the question, near the end of this short poem, re whether this expression was poetic or prophetic, had to do with a question often found in the arts, is the work of art, and also in this case, the real feeling for someone, descriptive, even if evocative and/or lyrical? or more meaningful, possibly profound?
carrying the thought a little further, though it could be argued poetic and prophetic are within each other (for each to be valid), i generally seem to connect to the feeling of the poetic in the present tense, even if what's being described is past or future; it evokes sensations and responses very much experienced in the moment of reading or hearing
in contrast, the prophetic, be definition, strikes me as portending the future, even when the prophetic event or moment initiates in the present, or is remembered from the past; it's seems more of a vision of what's to be...or can be
words, semantics, arbitrary delineations, yes, i know, and agree
but, at times, it's what we humans like to do :-)
maybe, so when we do throw caution to winds unknown, we do know, if given time and chance, we'll revisit ourselves, our adventure...to delineate....

Special notes:
The text presented in the photo example below is how we print, a more cursive pretty font that won't reprint well here.
Also, we adjust the font size of the title, copyright, personalization, to fit both the writing itself, and the constraints of the mat opening (window) of the 8x10's we use.
