Artist's Comment: i enjoy doing some writings from younger ages, some say i may've never got past them :-)
while "ok, dad" is more from a teen's or young adult's viewpoint, "my grandpa" is definitely from a younger even more innocent age
re-reading it again i'm struck by the inherent idea i must've had that values, like the desire and urg to be helpful to another person, is often imprinted by someone close to us when we are very young
to what degree that rests in me now, i gratefully thank my grandparents and parents
what's pleased me so much about these "young" poems is the usually very positive response from the age group i tried to re-connect within myself with, and the pleasure they expressed having found something they felt very good about giving to someone so special in their life
there will be many more like these early-age appropriate poems posted in the many coming months ahead
