Original Poetry from Adan Lerma
A Gift for RememberingTM
Artist's Comment: a strange poem, even for me, trying to juxtapose conflicting or surprising images, yet retaining an integral link within the sounds and appearances of the words, to reflect the old / new theme
also rare, i've added a full line to the original text rather than merely adjusting a tense or making plural: "or made new, again" - must be in the air, my air anyway :-) 'cause next week's selection has several with significant re-writes plus a new work
new works posted and poems scheduled or coming are listed on my main page under "recent additions"

the thought itself" - adan
Magic
Cows’ smiling
black and white heads
floating over palomino ponies
panting
like puppies, the cows all meowing
they’d really like a cracker.
Magic’s like that.
Seemingly confused compositions
of things known, crinkled onto
wet wavy sheets of glass -
images bringing new
from the old.
Seemingly at least.
Some order somewhere
has re-ordered this new mix into
a new magical mix of meanings.
It rests within nature - inside God’s
universes. The good in it is often only
waiting to be found.
Or made new, again.

Special notes:
The text presented in the photo example below is how we print, a more cursive pretty font that won't reprint well here.
Also, we adjust the font size of the title, copyright, personalization, to fit both the writing itself, and the constraints of the mat opening (window) of the 8x10's we use.
