A Gift for RememberingTM
Artist's Comment: written after speaking w/several accountant "types" who generously and with good humor let me ask enough questions to realize their intent was not exactitude for exactness' sake, but a true accounting for one's actions
notice the dating of the work w/the reference to "floppies" - it of course can be changed to something more contemporary on request to personalize our work, though it is a cute reminder of the pace of change in our world of technology - maybe...

"the act of giving your thoughts to one you love can be as important as
the thought itself" - adan
Accounting
It all adds up.
Just subtract the repetition
and keep your column’s straight.
Sharpen the lead but don’t get
sloppy with your floppies.
You’re the one to keep
us honest. You’re
the one to keep us
from seeing red
or going broke.
Accounting is
more than counting
numbers. It’s more than
staying solvent or keeping
records. It’s understanding
the grown-up mechanisms that
make all the above possible.
It’s understanding how to
maintain responsibility
and be accountable.

Special notes:
The text presented in the photo example below is how we print, a more cursive pretty font that won't reprint well here.
Also, we adjust the font size of the title, copyright, personalization, to fit both the writing itself, and the constraints of the mat opening (window) of the 8x10's we use.
