Artist Commentary
"Rowing on Barton Springs"
hard to believe this is a fairly typical february day, one you can easily take a canoe on barton springs in austin
sheila and i had never canoed on barton springs or what was then town lake (now is happily lady bird lake), so we gathered what we hoped was the right gear and clothes, basically casual wear we could afford to get wet or ruin, worst came to worst :-)
it was truly quasi-magial paddling our way toward then past the two bridges in the painting, the barton springs road bridge and the zilker park walking bridge, then to lady bird lake itself
families, couples, and solitary souls shared the waterway
along the banks, on the newly laid broader walks, strolled young couples, school kids, and more than a few ducks
over the next few weeks and months i will be posting, or i should say reposting many of my images of the views along barton springs; the reposts include expanded commentary and picture information and links of interest
