Artist Commentary "Stairway to Barton Springs with Tree" one of my favorites; good in any light but stunning in good natural light; like some of my better writings, the colors and strokes came off the brush like breezes on a summer's eve this is from the same vantage point as "Barton Springs Canoe" and is titled partly to focus the man-made stairs leading into this fragilely preserved wilderness next to downtown austin, but to play on the title of the song that continually came to mind as i worked on this painting, Led Zepplin's "stairway to heaven" it's hard to imagine looking at this painting that just above to the left of the stairway is an extremely busy street leading into the zilker park neighborhoods adan - january 12, 2008 Click to Zoom In poetry index - arts reviews - original paintings - main top
