Day 2
|
Artist Update: January 6, 2008
the following is a repost of my newsletter mailing on march 2, 2007; any links now included have been added; other than any glaring grammatical errors or spelling, and any special notations such as "added note", all other text has been left as the original; thank you much

started the day with a hard continuing rain from last night, flooding in yonkers, traffic like i-35 in austin on steroids, but a nice inexpensive breakfast at
cafe europa w/custom omelettes, fresh bananas, smooth cups of coffee, and by early this afternoon, sunshine, lots and lots of sunshine in the 50's, feels almost balmy
said my goodbyes to a long time favorite - shipped "san antonio riverwalk" to a buyer in california
saw more and more options and advantages of printing some of my work on canvas, big, 30 x40's, 36 x 48's, seeing how artists are embellishing the canvas print with real paint, a mixed media print original, kinda like a cyborg or bionic clone, able to sell it for much less than the original, ready to frame or stretched on canvas wrap stretchers (deep), and look and feel much like a complete original; gotta think more about this
(added note: have now available two giclees, "austin at night" and "barton springs canoe")
legs starting to feel it; my dad used to say, 'must be getting old' and i'd laugh and say, no dad, i am old :-)
beautiful evening today, no hard gusting winds in the low 30's laden w/moisture and storm; tonight was clear and cheerful, sheila & i stopped at one of many city bars, oysters and clams $1 each, choice of 4 types of oysters, two from each coast, tried one from each, one smaller but tasty and smooth, the other larger, chewier, lots of good red sauce and just a touch of a very potent horse radish; caesar salads crispy and clean, 1/2 carafes of wines, speciality crackers seasoned and sliced long like pickles, then home to our room in a new york minute, literally (added note: club quarters)
we'd been on our way from our show shuttle to our hotel
good night, good rest, tomorrow the pace picks up; show opens to the public
thanks ya'll,
adan
