Friendship
Friendship is a difficult
feeling to describe.
Sometimes.
Oh, sure, there’s those moments
when everyone’s laughing with big
open grins, a hand or an arm wrapped
lightly, warmly on the other person’s shoulder.
And there’s moments where if you don’t
offer to share, even if only a soda,
or maybe that great joke you
just heard that morning,
it actually pains you
not to.
But what about those other moments
when you’re clouded by
secret concerns of
doubt or fear - gnawing
like hunger inside your soul.
And sharing it, or even just
being with that person - really helps.
And then there are those quiet
silent moments when a friend is
like a current.
Warming your heart.
Lighting your mind. Lending you back
what surely
you’ve already given.
